KUOW is looking for youth ages 16-18 who want to produce radio stories and experience what it means to be a journalist. The RadioActive Spring 2013 Afterschool Workshop. In this fun, rigorous and hands-on workshop, youth ages 16-18 learn about journalism, audio recording, audio editing, interviewing, writing for broadcast, and speaking on the air. By the end of the program, each of the six participants will create a finished audio story about people in their community that will be published on KUOW.org! This workshop is a partnership between KUOW 94.9FM and Rainier Scholars. The 2013 Spring Workshop starts on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 and ends on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Workshops are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm at the 2100 Building, at 2100 24th Avenue South. We also meet Friday, Feb. 15 from 9am-1pm, Saturday, Feb. 23 from 11-4pm, and Saturday, Apr. 6 from 11-4 pm.You can find more information and applications online.
